Experience the exciting and beautiful rafting on the Russell Fork River in Elkhorn City, Kentucky. This river runs through the Breaks Interstate Park which is one of the most beautiful gorges in the East. It runs along the Virginia and Kentucky border.
If you’re an adrenaline seeker you can raft the extreme class V rapids in the Gorge section. This is for experienced paddlers who want to push excitement to the edge! The Russell Fork gorge section is the most extreme rafting in the Eastern United States. This section isn’t for everyone, but is perfect for you who have rafted before and want something bigger and better than what you can find anywhere else. You must be 18 years old to raft with us on this section of whitewater and experience on class IV and V rapids. Inquire with us if you want suggestions for a good prerequisite river.
The Upper section above the Gorge has class II, III, and IV rapids and is great for those of you who want to raft and experience the beauty of the area. First-timers enjoy and do great on this fully guided section of whitewater. You will experience the joy and excitement of rafting with an experienced guide and good whitewater. This is perfect for families and youth and scout groups. Excitement is inevitable and I guarantee you’ll want to do it again!
The Russell Fork is a dam controlled river and is released weekends in October. This provides beautiful fall foliage in the deepest gorge in the area. A can’t miss opportunity to see the land from the perspective of the river!
Make your reservations early for this river. We only have 8 days a year to raft the Russell Fork and space is very limited. Please call for reservations. Because of the very limited space, we only take reservations on the telephone so not to overbook these trips.
